Council Member Danny Becton Files for Re-Election for District 11 Seat

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 1, 2018) – Danny Becton, the current Jacksonville City Council member for the Eleventh District, officially filed today for re-election of that seat at the Supervisor of Elections office.

“It is my great honor to represent and serve the thousands of residents within District 11 over the past three years. We have accomplished a great deal as growth, jobs and prosperity have identified District 11 as the place to be within the city. Today, I have filed for a second and final term so that I can continue with the accomplishments for which we have begun and look to continue in the years together.”

The principles that have guided my decisions have been 1) Neighborhoods, 2) Small Business and 3) Protecting Taxpayers", CM Becton noted. "I have been recognized as one of the most fiscally conservative member of council, always well prepared and willing to ask the tough questions. This is part of my effort to be the most forthright and open City Council member serving".

In 2017, my second year on council, I was awarded the city council’s greatest honor, the prestigious “Charles D. Webb” award. This award recognizes the council member who best exemplifies the extraordinary commitment to public service as demonstrated by the late Charles D. Webb during his years on City Council from 1971 until his death in 1976.

The secret to my success has been my independence and work ethic as a small business owner for over 27 years. This independence has been a huge part of my success because of people like you supporting me and keeping my office beyond the reach of special interest and big lobbyists.
